Materials Testing

World-class material engineering requires extensive analytical resources. Shawmut supports all its materials engineering projects with a combination of internal and external resources. Our internal capabilities include full-service physical testing--from simple physical testing, to chemical resistance, environmental cycling, and accelerated aging. Our internal testing capabilities include a wide range of application specific tests for the medical, protective clothing and automotive industries. Shawmut uses its extensive internal testing capability to support development activities, product certification, PPAP and production control. Our full scale testing laboratory in Port Huron is A2LA certified.

Some of our most challenging developments require the support of highly specialized testing capabilities. For these applications, we supplement our internal testing capabilities with a program of university partnerships that provide us access to some of the most advanced materials testing labs in the country.
