Shawmut has the engineering expertise to design and implement custom lamination processes to meet unique customer requirements.

Our 15 lamination engineers have over 200 years of collective lamination engineering experience with a full spectrum of lamination technologies including flame, reactive thermoplastics, hot melts, solvent-based adhesives, films, webs and powders.

This extensive process experience combined with intensive Six Sigma investigations has provided our team with a complex understanding of the critical process parameters that determine process capability across a wide range of properties in a wide range of applications. The result is we can quickly choose a process and establish process parameters for commercial production.

In certain cases the ideal lamination solution requires controls and capabilities that are not available from “off-the-shelf” production equipment. Shawmut has the ability to design and built custom equipment to address specific needs. Our internal machine design team has been designing, building and modifying lamination and web handling equipment for use and for sale for nearly four decades. With an installed base of 60 machines, Shawmut has been one of the leading producers of specialized equipment in the United States.
